My two pieces of advice for shopping here would be:
1) Bargain! I wish I could give a rule of thumb to assist with this but in this market that won't work! E.g. I'd seen a painting I liked and the seller quoted like 40k naira and eventually agreed on 5k..imagine! I didn't buy it though but was pretty amazed at the initial ask.
2) Look around first before buying anything. Everyone's pretty much selling the same stuff (but for some unique pieces here and there) so my advise would be to scan through the whole market and while scanning see how low you can get your items for.
I had a great time just looking through the items at Jakande Market and would recommend shopping here for souvenirs as well as home decor items (or even just visiting for fun).
